About Balance & Gait Assessment

Our Balance & Gait Assessment is ideal if you’re concerned about falls, feeling unsteady, or want to maintain or improve your balance as you age gracefully. This 60-minute session provides a thorough evaluation of your balance, stability and fall risk by assessing multiple facets of balance and movement.

What the Assessment Involves

  • Personalised Health Review: We begin by understanding your medical history and any relevant factors affecting your balance.

  • Physical Tests: A range of research-backed tests that assess

    • Static Balance – How steady you are while standing still.

    • Dynamic Balance – Your stability during movement, such as walking or turning.

    • Gait Speed & Walking Tests – Your pace and stability over various distances.

    • Multitasking Balance – Your balance while performing more than one task at a time, which can be challenging as we age.

    • Functional Day-to-Day Movements – Your stability in everyday activities like standing up or reaching.

These assessments are tailored to ensure safety and comfort, with tests selected based on your abilities on the day.

Results and Next Steps

With the assessment results, we’ll pinpoint specific areas for improvement and create a customized exercise program aimed at enhancing your balance, confidence, and reducing fall risk. Note: Each Balance & Gait Assessment session is reserved for a maximum of two participants. Please arrive at the allocated time, as each session lasts approximately 60 minutes.
